Spotify and Sonos in Perfect Harmony

Sonos has today announced that it is adding support for the Spotify music service by the end of September.

The update for Sonos customers will be via a free software update and will bring Spotify customers in the UK, as well as Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden.

You'll need to have a Spotify Premium account to get the service however, so although it is a free update there is a cost involved - £9.99 a month - unless of course you already have a Premium account.

You'll then find that Spotify adds itself into your controller, be it on the iPhone or via the new iPad app, which is also coming later in September.

Spotify is a music streaming service and joins the likes of Last.fm in enabling Sonos owners to access music, be it local or online, and stream it through Sonos devices around the home, with support for up to 32 zones.

If you are an existing Sonos owner, all you have to do is sit and wait for the software version 3.3 update at the end of September and you are all set.
